| Balanced Man Scholarship Are you a high school guidance counselor? Are you a high school senior who believes in developing both your mind and body as a way to live a complete life? Are you looking for a scholarship that recognizes your achievements inside and outside of the classroom? The 2010 Balanced Man Scholarship is being offered to all qualified men who are attending UCSD in the 2010-2011 scholastic year. Sigma Phi Epsilon, the nation’s largest college fraternity, is awarding $1500 in scholarship money to applicants who best exemplify the SigEp ideal of Sound Mind, Sound Body. The Balanced Man Scholarship awards incoming freshmen who exemplify academic excellence, demonstrate leadership skills, and commit to health and well-being. The Ancient Greeks believed in developing a Sound Mind and a Sound Body as the way to live a fulfilling life. SigEp adopted this philosophy with the Balanced Man Ideal and since 1990 has awarded the Balanced Man Scholarship to some of the best students coming to campus. There are over 150 chapters of Sigma Phi Epsilon offering the Balanced Man Scholarship and we are one of them. Membership in the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity is not a requirement. |
